Business Challenge

The International Code Council (ICC) is the global authoritative source of model codes, standards, and building safety solutions. To accelerate its digital transformation, ICC aimed to empower smarter decision-making through association analytics and integrated data strategy—without relying heavily on internal IT resources. As a Standard-Setting Organization (SDO) with a mission-critical audience, ICC needed to better understand user behavior, member engagement, e-commerce performance, online discoverability, and its Net Promoter Score (NPS) to ensure its platforms and offerings were meeting user needs efficiently and effectively.

Solution

Cruz Street partnered with the Chief Knowledge Officer and Product Management team to launch a scalable monthly KPI reporting system. We established a comprehensive BI strategy, built a centralized data lake, and implemented automated monthly reporting. Data was integrated across product, e-commerce, multiple CRMs, and membership systems into a unified architecture. Custom Power BI reports were developed to track performance, with ongoing monthly maintenance and optimization. ICC also adopted DashProphet, Cruz Street’s analytics platform hosted on AWS QuickSight, to centralize insights and support decision-making across Product, Marketing, and Sales teams.

Results

The engagement empowered ICC’s digital transformation in building safety by turning fragmented datasets into unified, actionable insights. Through advanced association analytics and a centralized data strategy, ICC doubled product revenue within a year and boosted organic traffic by 80% year-over-year. Geo-level ad analysis led to smarter targeting and five-figure savings in digital spend. Membership engagement became fully visible—subscription tiers were validated and retained, renewal rates improved, and feedback was captured directly within Power BI dashboards. These insights fueled ongoing platform enhancements and strengthened the connection between ICC and its global member base.
